Satisfaction

When I was at my previous advertising/marketing job, my greatest job satisfaction was seeing the launch of a campaign I put together.
When I first became a DJ a year plus ago, I asked myself where would my job satisfaction come from?
At first, it was when I was able to operate the control panel.
Then, it was when I heard my own voice over the radio.
Then, it was when I flew solo, having my own program.

But today, I experienced the greatest job satisfaction of all.
I met a bunch of really nice and sincere people, the Singapore Doves (Aska's fan club).
They came all the way to Mediacorp, in the rain, just to pass me some presents, a card, a letter and a cake.

It was so sweet and touching, for me.
And now I know, the greatest job satisfaction of being a DJ, is when you get to know that there are listeners out there who listens to you, and appreciates you for who you are.
Thank you Michelle, Andrew, June, Michel, Carina, Yi Ling, Serynn, Shu Fang, Dorathy, 美美 and 豆豆. For giving me the chance to feel this way.

And Liza (did u think I'd miss u out? ;) ), thank you for all your efforts in making the card and the mug. They're beautiful, I can't express enough how much I love them. And all I can say again, is THANK YOU!!! =)

Gems

They say 'good friends are hard to come by...'

And mine came in a bundle... I must have been a saint in my past life to deserve such awesome friends.

YEAH HEY~!

Hug it out baby!!

Why can't everyone be in 1 single shot...

I hope I'm not maxing out my luck this lifetime.
(And I hope they feel the same about me...)

TV addict month

Its the Olympics month, once every 4 years. The sports event of the world.
Its the 1 month that I will get glued in front of the TV for most of my free time (except for work... and mahjong of cos).
The few MUST-WATCH events for me are Gymnastics, Diving, Swimming, and Table Tennis.
But I almost hate it when I watch competitions with the Singapore teams involved. It is pure mental torture.
My heart is constantly racing, ready to pop out anytime, I'm basically a nervous wreck.
"GO JIAWEI!!!" "TAO LIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!" "CHEONG AH SINGAPORE!!!" "CLAP CLAP CLAP"
FWAH. Like can kennah heart attack anytime.
But I hope they can feel my cheers all the way from Singapore.

Anyway, I've discovered the 'MUST-HAVE's for most female athletes.
Hairpins.
Most of them have at least 5 to 10 pins on their heads, each.
Some have so many pins I could barely see their hair.
So, hairpins gets my vote for the 'most lucrative business during Olympics'.

** Update: GO Singapore!!!! We are going thru to the Table Tennis Finals, so we definitely bringing back a Olympics medal!!! I'm so so so happy I can cry.
GOOOOOOOOOO SINGAPOREEEEEEEEEEEEEE! GO Feng TianWei, Li JiaWei and Wang Yue GU!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! **

Tell my fortune

The blue moon arrived, I went on MSN.
And an interesting conversation took place.

A: Hey! I met this super power fortune teller! Wanna go check it out?
Me: Interesting...
A: She's really accurate! She knew all about my past!!!!
Me: Why would I wanna know about my past? No one knows it better than I do.
A: ... What about your future? That you would wanna know!
Me: What if she tells me I'm gonna die tomorrow? Does that mean I stop living today?
A: ......

Don't get me wrong, fortune telling is indeed interesting, mind boggling even. I'm all for it.
But isn't the unpredictability of life is what that pushes you on. Feeding on the hope that tomorrow COULD bring you more than what you had today.

31st July 2008: I'm 1 year old!

There are some certain days in a year that will mean a whole lot to each individual.
For some, its christmas, or new years. For me, its my birthday, and today.
Once a year, during my birthday, I feel so loved by everyone in my life that cares. Those gestures of love are not something one can replaced easily.

And today, the 31st of July, also made its way to my 'special days calendar'.
Because today is the day that I turn 1 year old, at Y.E.S 93.3
Time flew, and I went from a green horn to a... well... pretty much still a newbie.
So much has happened in the last 365 days, some were good, some were rocky, and most of it fabulous.
Initially it took a lot of getting used to. Getting used to public scrutiny, doing everything knowing that someone else may be observing you, and of course having total strangers hurling insults at you every chance they have.
Some feedback were constructive, some were ridiculous. At the top of my ridiculous list, someone asked me to die or go to jail so he/she don't have to listen to my voice on 933 anymore.
Honestly, that hurt. Initially.
Then, I thought to myself 'Damn, I'm new at this job, if no one else is giving you a chance, the least you could do is give yourself a chance.' And I did. And I'm so glad I did.
The past year had been nothing less than amazing. I've enjoyed every single moment of it.
I've found my perfect job.
I still have so much to learn, and I aim to push myself further and harder.
But all these would of course had not been possible without someone else in my life.
Someone who had been giving me chances, realizing my dream of becoming a DJ, giving me opportunities whenever she could. I can't express my gratitude enough.
Everyone has a 伯乐 in their life.
And I'm extremely lucky I've found mine.

Hong Kong Tales

Hong Kong was AWESOME!!!
We were kept busy with eating and shopping..........
errr... I meant working. Seriously. It was a busy work trip.
The money spent was.. well.. ALOT by my standard, but well worth it I guess. (Apart from the 2 bloody left feet story)
In summary, the trip was very satisfying!

The press conference hall was designed to cater to Wilber's new song 转机, the banquet hall transformed into scenes you would see at an airport. The ushers were dressed as air stewardesses, and emcee as a pilot. HOT.

And then there was a 2-D flat airplane on stage. :D

Flat as it is, the plane door opens up and Wilber walked out from it. Quite grand. I was tempted to take a walk myself, but was too shy to ask.

I liked the runway, and photo whored on it quite a bit. Sadly, the pictures are not with me right now.

Wilber and an air ticket larger than life, or himself for that matter.
"Where are you going Wilber? Can I tag along?"

Up close and personal.

Upper, closer, and personal-ler.. or more personal.. with Hins.

And then we got bored in the cab on the way to the train station.

And then worse...

Oh! Introduction please! Alex/Junliang, the 933 winner that went to Hong Kong with me! I call him didi (弟弟).
Cute? Ladies, please take a queue number. This single lad has lotsa other ladies after him! (I think lah..)

Yes.. we were that bored...

The boredom went on to the train station...

Charlie's Angels, with some luggage.

Romeo and Juliet.. and Juliet's barang barang.

There's more pictures, but it's 4.22am in the morning and its time for me to rot in bed.

To be continued...
